At Southwind Fields we believe in finding purpose through meaningful experiences. We believe these experiences come when we give of ourselves to others. Everyone has a unique, God given gift that, when put to use, provides fulfillment in our lives.

Our Mission

To build a sense of community, independence and empowerment for adults with differing abilities through connection, meaningful experiences, spiritual growth, and a place to call their own.

OUR VISION

To see adults with learning differences living a life they love.

Every single soul has something to offer to the world. When we use those gifts to extend love to others, we receive dignity in return.
— Leslie Bellieu, Southwind Fields co-founder

our values

Love - Above all else, to love others the way God loves us, unconditionally and even when it’s hard.

Outrageous Faith - Boundless and audacious trust in God’s goodness and His plan for our lives, knowing that He will provide immeasurably more than we could ask for or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Community - Where we are truly known and empowered by one another to be the best versions of ourselves.

Abundant Life - If we live by the spirit, by the spirit let us also walk (Galatians 5:25), seeking freedom and fulfillment in Jesus. (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control).

Limitless Generosity - It is our privilege, living in the freedom of our faith, to humbly serve one another, giving of our love, time, and resources without condition and without expectation.

CREATING COMMUNITY | FOSTERING INDEPENDENCE

HONORING UNIQUE GIFTS | CULTIVATING CHARACTER

The Southwind Fields programs are based on the "Community Strong" concept - founded around the notion of healthy interdependence and the knowledge that we are built for community. Together, our Locals are launching a revolutionary initiative that provides adults with differing abilities the opportunity to make an enormous impact in the city of San Antonio and around the world.  We believe that "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" should not be exclusively for “neurotypicals”.  Everyone has the right to pursue their dreams and fulfill their God lead passions. Whether it be as City Locals, at the Southwind Local Society, or the upcoming Southwind Fields Tiny Home Community, we are committed to authentic community and a healthy interdependence that allow for our Locals’ highest level of independence. Spreading the love of Jesus. Finding purpose. No failure. No being fired. No being "fixed". That's the Southwind lifestyle.

Southwind City Locals Program

The City Locals program is designed for men and women with learning differences to live as independently as possible within a supportive community. City Locals receive a variety of support services and have the opportunity to attend the Southwind Local Society, where they participate in independent living skills classes, meet with their advisor, make friends, and attend group events.

THE SOUTHWIND Local Society

The Southwind Local Society not only houses Independence Pursuit, but is a safe space where adults with differing abilities may find meaningful experiences, independent living training and healthy relationships, surrounded by their peers. Whether it’s the Day Local program, participating in “IP”, or just hanging out with friends, the Southwind Local Society will be your new favorite digs.

Southwind Tiny HOME community

The upcoming Southwind Fields Tiny Home community is a residential program where our Locals will experience an all inclusive community of acceptance, growth, independence, and support.  Not only will they have a place to call their own, but everything they need for life, work, and fulfillment will be right at their doorstep. It’s not just a dream, it’s personal. Join this ground-breaking effort now.
