Not disabilities... just abilities.

At Southwind Fields we believe in finding purpose through meaningful experiences. We believe these experiences come when we give of ourselves to others. Everyone has a unique, God given gift that, when put to use, provides fulfillment in our lives.

Our Mission

To build a sense of community and provide empowerment for adults with special needs through connection, meaningful experiences, spiritual growth, and fulfilling mission work.

Every single soul has something to offer to the world. When we use those gifts to extend love to others, we receive dignity in return.
— Leslie Bellieu, Southwind Fields co-founder

our values

Love - Above all else, to love others the way God loves us, unconditionally and even when it’s hard.

Outrageous Faith - Boundless and audacious trust in God’s goodness and His plan for our lives, knowing that He will provide immeasurably more than we could ask for or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Community - Where we are truly known and empowered by one another to be the best versions of ourselves.

Abundant Life - If we live by the spirit, by the spirit let us also walk (Galatians 5:25), seeking freedom and fulfillment in Jesus. (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control).

Limitless Generosity - It is our privilege, living in the freedom of our faith, to humbly serve one another, giving of our love, time, and resources without condition and without expectation.

what that looks like...

The Southwind Fields programs are based on the "Community Strong" concept - launching a revolutionary initiative that provides adults with learning differences the opportunity to make an enormous impact in the city of San Antonio and around the world.  Working alongside one another, in "Community Impact Teams", our locals can enter the mission field in a way that not only helps them find fulfillment, but works towards the greater good, benefiting non-profits working to make a difference in our city.  We believe that "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" should not be exclusively for people without disabilities.  Everyone has the right to pursue their dreams and fulfill their God lead passions.  In both the Southwind Day Program as well as the Southwind Fields Tiny House program, locals are offered the opportunity to be contracted Southwind Fields employees, being hired onto Local Work Teams, earning a steady paycheck while being active participants in an employment setting of their choosing within our organization. We are committed to our locals' highest level of independence and authenticity. Spreading the love of Jesus. Finding purpose. No failure. No being fired. No being "fixed". That's the Southwind lifestyle.

Southwind City Locals Program

The Southwind City Locals program is designed for men and women with the desire and necessary skill set to live independently, within the community, with minor assistance.   City Locals have the opportunity to attend the Southwind Day Program, should they desire to do so, where they may participate in community impact team mission work and attend Life Groups and Worship Gatherings.

Southwind Day Program

The Southwind Day program provides an empowering environment where adults with special needs may find meaningful life experiences each week, surrounded by their peers, while gaining relevant life-skills and working to serve those in need.

Southwind Fields Tiny House Village

The upcoming Southwind Fields Tiny House Village is a residential program where our "Locals" will experience an all inclusive community of acceptance, growth, independence, and support.  Not only will they have a place to call their own, but everything they need for life, work, and serving will be right at their doorstep.
